Dear Parent,
Hari Om
In today's fast-paced world, where people are constantly pursuing material success and worldly ambitions, many parents find it difficult to devote time to teaching slokas and introducing their children to the rich spiritual heritage of Sanatan Dharma.
India's traditional education system was based on the Gurukula model, where students lived with their Guru and received holistic guidance in all aspects of life. Whether it was spiritual sadhana, Vedic chanting, learning warfare and martial skills, or acquiring vocational skills such as carpentry, masonry, and sculpture, close association with the Guru played a vital role in the learning process.
Over time, modern education systems evolved with a primary focus on academic and professional subjects. While schools and colleges impart valuable knowledge and skills, there is often limited scope for systematic spiritual and cultural education. As a result, many children grow up with little exposure to the wisdom, values, and traditions of Sanatan Dharma.
At Gurukul Sloka Classes, we strive to bridge this gap by imparting spiritual and cultural education to the younger generation.
Various studies and research conducted by educational institutions in India and abroad have indicated that chanting mantras and slokas can improve concentration, enhance memory, calm the mind, and promote emotional well-being. These benefits contribute positively to a student's overall personality development while also fostering an appreciation for our Vedic traditions and cultural heritage.
In today's interconnected world, young minds are exposed to a wide range of ideas, beliefs, and influences by people of other faiths. Also there is negative influence of media through gadgets such as phone and TV. It is therefore important that children develop a clear understanding of their own cultural and spiritual roots and do not get much distracted by connecting with the unnecessary. A clarity and understanding in the principles outlined in the stories and slokas of our Sanatan Dharma enables them to engage confidently when they are encountered with differing viewpoints while remaining grounded in their own values and traditions.
Our classes are designed not merely to teach the chanting of slokas but also to kindle a genuine interest in Sanatan Dharma. Students are encouraged to ask questions and seek clarity regarding various aspects of Hindu philosophy, traditions, and practices. They also learn valuable lessons and inspiring stories from our great epics and scriptures, including the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Srimad Bhagavatam.
To ensure that learning remains enjoyable and manageable, each class is limited to approximately 30 to 35 minutes. This allows students sufficient time for their regular studies and other activities. Classes are conducted online, enabling students from different locations to participate conveniently without the need for travel.
We warmly invite you to enrol your children in Gurukul Sloka Classes and help them experience the timeless wisdom of our ancient tradition in an engaging and meaningful manner.
